Dr. Kristina Box
Dr. Kristina Box was named Indiana State Health Commissioner by Governor Eric J. Holcomb in 2017. She brings to the role a passion for improving the health of Hoosiers, beginning before birth. Dr. Box has been a practicing obstetrician and gynecologist in Indianapolis for 30 years. She served on the Indiana Perinatal Quality Improvement Collaborative (IPQIC) that is comprised of more than 300 statewide community professionals working to reduce infant mortality. Dr. Box is leading the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Virginia Caine
Dr. Virginia Caine is the director of the Marion County Public Health Department. She is an associate professor of medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine’s Infectious Diseases Division. Dr. Caine works tirelessly to promote and advance public health through innovative programs and unprecedented collaborations. With a national reputation for her work in public health through the Marion County Public Health Department, she was instrumental in setting up the first nationwide physician educational program regarding AIDS for the National Medical Association.
Dr. Jennifer Sullivan
Dr. Jennifer Sullivan serves as Secretary of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration. She is currently a Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Sullivan continues to work clinically in the Riley Hospital for Children Emergency Department and is dedicated to building effective and efficient delivery of health care and social services to Hoosiers. She takes a public health approach to policy decisions and is committed to strategic alignment across government and the private sector to improve health outcomes and fill unmet social needs

As IU’s 18th First Lady, Laurie is an active ambassador for Indiana University and its extensive alumni community, with a particular focus on philanthropy and the growing influence of women. Laurie is a founder of the Women’s Philanthropy Leadership Council at the Indiana University Foundation and serves as its honorary chair. In 2012, she was named Woman of the Year by the City of Bloomington’s Commission on the Status of Women.
