We invite you to become a dynamic volunteer for this one-of-­a-­kind conference!

Kathy and Emily Blyze, Directors of Volunteer Management for the Indiana Conference for Women, are a multi-generational, mother-daughter team who are passionate about empowering women. Now directing for their third year in the role they have already made an impression on multiple professionals eager to enhance the conference experience for themselves and fellow attendees alike.

Please complete this form. and choose your preferred area(s) of service and preferred time(s). A six hour minimum commitment is requested. A brief description of positions and responsibilities is listed on the right side of the page.

A 45 minute volunteer training session is mandatory. Please select from one of the three training sessions listed. If you live outside of the Indianapolis area, a training conference call will be available.

PRE-EVENT PREP (November 6)
Assist organizing registration and give-aways

GREETER (November 7)
Assist directional guidance to guests, vendors, and speakers attending conference
Provide traffic control at doors
Smile and welcome every individual in the area
Knowledgeable on Convention Center logistics
Answer questions / Remain in designated position

Registration/ Check-in Table:  Welcome, smile, greet guests, register/check-in guests, accept payment for walk-ins and make name badge, distribute conference materials, direct guests
Line Management:  Facilitate pedestrian traffic flow, manage attendees standing in line, answer questions, direct guests
Registration / Check-in runner
Ask Me! Volunteer:  Answer questions, direct guests, accept items for lost and found

PIC (Person In Charge)(November 7)
Designated point person to handle specific concerns:
Liaison with Convention Center:  Team captain handles questions and concerns about safety and emergency protocol, go-between for Convention Center and volunteer services
Registration /Check-in:  Team captain to oversee and provide support for any escalated situations
Volunteer:  Team captain for all volunteers
Speaker Handler:  Team captain for any and all speaker concerns and needs
Wayfinding:  Team captain for assisting guests with clear and correct directional needs

HANDLER(November 7)
Assist speaker with concerns and needs (i.e. escort speaker to their appropriate location for presentation, water, tissues, mint, first aid kit, office supplies, etc.)
Keynote Speaker(s) – lunch and closing
Breakout Speaker(s)
Green Room for Speaker(s)

Stand at door and welcome breakout session attendees
Help latecomers find seating
Remain for breakout session
Provide 5 minute warning (at speakers discretion)
Record headcount

RUNNER (November 7)
Field miscellaneous, concerns for other volunteers, registrants, vendors and other duties as assigned.
A Jill-of-all-trades i.e. provides water, office supplies, extra name badges, etc.

FLOATER (November 7)
Back-up for any/all positions i.e. greeter, registration/check-in, handler, etc. Needs to be visible and welcoming
