Melina Kennedy is the General Manager of Global Rail and Defense businesses, two key markets for the Cummins High Horsepower Engine Industry. Melina and her teams focus on growth with the launch of new products that will support passenger and freight locomotive applications in North America and globally, as well as other segments of the global rail and defense businesses. Before Cummins, Melina was a partner at the law firm of Baker & Daniels, where she served as chairwoman of and managed the firm’s energy, environment and climate change practice group. She previously served as deputy mayor for Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson and later ran for Mayor in a highly visible and competitive campaign in 2011. She previously served as an Indiana Supreme Court clerk for Justice Frank Sullivan and an attorney with Johnson Smith LLP. Melina received her B.A.in Environmental Studies and History, her M.S. in Environmental Science and her J.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington.
