What does success look like? For previous Pitch Competition contestants Danielle Wolter Nolan and Kate Wolan, it meant owning DNK Presents, a successful outdoor adventure company. For others, it has meant providing language software to assist individuals with dyslexia, improving quality of life for adults in need of spill protection, providing fresh flavors with botanical hard soda, and so much more. For every entrepreneur with a dream, the knowledge that they need in order to take the next step for their business is a powerful tool.
This year, the annual Pitch Competition at the Indiana Conference for Women was designed to present women entrepreneurs with greater opportunities for success. Our associates at The Startup Ladies, an organization that identifies, educates, and connects women entrepreneurs starting and scaling their businesses, present the annual event.
Each year, aspiring contestants apply to pitch their business to an assembled judges’ panel of entrepreneurs, influencers and innovators. With available Startup Study Hall sessions conducted by The Startup Ladies in the lead up to the competition, entrepreneurs can hone presentation skills and better define their business model and brand story; invaluable skills for those seeking success.
Contestants will have the opportunity to share their business proposition during a conference breakout session, and can make the connections and find the confidence to move forward onto their next chapter. For so many of the women who have participated in the Pitch Competition, their ability to more effectively pitch their ideas and communicate their story has proven invaluable. Kristen Cooper, founder of The Startup Ladies, knows that the competition offers something to entrepreneurs that can’t be replicated. “Being a finalist in the ICFW Pitch Competition is a life-changing experience,” says Kristen. “You’re surrounded by experts who want to see you and your business grow exponentially. The coaching and connections will elevate your presence on a statewide level. We want to help you secure clients and investment so that you can continue to scale well beyond the conference.”
To all aspiring entrepreneurs, the way forward is here. Pitch Competition applications are now open. Apply today, and take the next step in building your dream.
